This mat design was derived from an original watercolor painting that I created to capture the amazing details that I found while hiking and looking closely at that was growing in a mountain bog near my home. Sphagnum is a lush moss that provides a safe haven and habitat for creatures like dragonflies and frogs. On the surface, the moss looked like a soft green carpet. After stooping down to take a closer look, I noticed that it was actually composed of countless tiny geometric shapes, each one smaller than my thumbnail. The more I notice details like this, the more I am filled with gratitude for this planet that we get to call home. This design serves as a reminder to slow down in our encounters with the natural world so that we can take in all her incredible details.
Namaste,
Rosalie
